MARCH Favourites 2017!

Hey Everyone,

First, I want to apologize because I haven’t uploaded posts in a little while. I wouldn’t say that I didn’t have the time but ever since I have been back from my trip, I have just been working and trying to grow my business. And in the midst of all that, I didn’t end up making the blog a priority. A lot changes happening in my life right now so I am just trying to remain in the present moment as much as possible and not over think too much. It’s one of the hardest things to do for sure. But I’ve missed writing so here I am sharing my March 2017 Favourites and hopefully more travel posts to come soon after this.

I don’t have too many favourites for this month so I will keep this short & sweet.

  1. National Home Show
One of my biggest goals for work this year was taking part in an industry related trade show. Being a small business, it was a big decision for us to spend a lot of money to put up a booth for 10 days in Downtown Toronto at the Enercare Centre. We needed different ways to advertise the business so I thought this would be a good way to gain exposure for our retail showroom. My goal was to get people into the showroom in Vaughan and I would evaluate the success of the show after one month. And I am glad to say that it was a SUCCESS! It feels so good to take a risk and get out of my comfort zone and come out stronger.  We decided to sign up for the fall show coming up in September so fingers crossed for that one!The learning lesson here is: YOU DON’T KNOW UNTIL YOU TRY! And the worst that could have happened was that we wouldn’t get any leads but you know you tried and if it worked great. If it didn’t, we knew not to take part in it again the year after that. You have to take risks in life to reap any rewards. You have to try something different to get different results.
  2. Book: You are a Badass

This is a fun beginners book guide to get started on the journey towards personal growth. It is a fun and fast read for those who are thinking of picking up one of these, “let’s improve my life” kind of books but haven’t taken that first step yet.  Here are three of my favourite quotes from the book.

“You are loved. Massively. Ferociously. Unconditionally. The Universe is totally freaking out about how awesome you are. It’s got you wrapped in a warm gorilla hug of adoration. It wants to give you everything you desire. It wants you to be happy. It wants you to see what it sees in you.”

“If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse.”

“Because if you base your self-worth on what everyone else thinks of you, you hand all your power over to other people and become dependent on a source outside of yourself for validation. Then you wind up chasing after something you have no control over, and should that something suddenly place its focus somewhere else, or change its mind and decide you’re no longer very interesting, you end up with a full-blown identity crisis.”

  3. Movie: Lion
Let me just say…I don’t remember the last time I cried while watching a movie. LION took away that streak. One of my favourite movies in a very long time. It is based on a true story of an Australian couple who adopts two kids from orphanages in India.  MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST WATCH!

  4. Networking
I have decided to meet 1-2 new people a month through networking. I simply think of areas I want to improve on, topics I want to learn about, the type of people I want to meet and I start googling that. On google, linked in, ten thousand coffees, conferences, contacts through friends etc. I have met some incredible people this past month (one of their interviews will be coming this month so stay tuned) and I highly recommend those of you who are looking for a change in their life whether it be career or personal, reach out to some people and you will be surprised how many of them will be willing to help you out.
  5. Novice Soul Book Club
I have been looking to join a book club for the longest time but I never found one that I was really interested in so I decided to create my own.  The book club will be all about reading books from different genres: biographies, self help, productivity, spirituality, nonfiction, autobiographies, business books and so much more! I am so excited to start the #nsbookclub and if you are interested in joining send me a message or leave a comment down below with your email to join the list 🙂 It’s going to be amazing…trust me!
