Umm, I am still trying to cope with the fact that it’s almost the end of summer! Where is the time going?

But on the bright side, is anyone else on the cusp of doing an over excitement “hurray” over the last holiday weekend of the summer?

What I learned this month is that, in the hustle & bustle of every day life, it is important to stop and enjoy the present moment. Stop stressing about the work assignments you need to finish, the list of chores you have to do and just take one day to unwind and relax. You will fill rejuvenated and ready to tackle on the tasks on your lists!

So as the end of summer approaches,  I am making the most of the next few weeks spending as much time outdoors as possible!

Here’s a round up of a few of my favourite things that I’ve been really enjoying this month.

1. Large Floral Spiral Notebook

This spiral notebook from Chapters was the perfect addition to my notebook collection! It’s the perfect notebook to jot down my ideas and thoughts for my blog and my ideas for a youtube channel.

2. Lemon & Ginger Tea by Yogi

I love drinking coffee and tea at any time of the day. But I needed an alternative to caffeine drinks. I found this caffeine free herbal tea and absolutely love it for those night time cravings! I curl up with a book and cup of tea after dinner to unwind.

3. Elora Gorge Day Trip

Every year, I travel to at least 3-4 new countries. However, this year I was focussed on growing my businesses so instead of travelling around the world, I decided to adventure across Ontario and discover all its hidden gems. There is so much to do and explore around Ontario and one summer just wasn’t enough.

This month, we went to a place called ELORA QUARRY! The place has tons of activities such as river tubing, hiking, picnic areas, swimming and much more. Definitely recommend any of you in Toronto to check it out before the summer.

4. Amusement Park Fun (getting over my fear of rides)

I may seem like a daredevil from some of my pictures but let me be honest here. I AM TERRIFIED of all the adrenaline filled activities and amusement park rides fall on that list. But, I always try to face my fears. What I realized was that everything is more scary in your mind and when you face on your fears head on, they are not the way you imagined it to be. Instead, it feels free, it feels incredible and that feeling will keep you wanting to try new things all the time.

5. App: Waze

With all the construction that is going on in Toronto, traffic has gotten a little ridiculous.

Say hello to this new app I just discovered and I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT!

6. Vipassana Meditation Weekend

I was feeling overwhelmed this month by everything that was going on in my life. Starting up a new business, re-branding my existing business, finding ways to grow my blog, looking for new ventures etc. I just needed a little ME TIME, to pause and reflect on why I was doing what I was doing. I needed to gain clarity on the path that I am taking. I needed to quiet my mind from all the noise.

Even though I meditate every morning, sometimes you just need the right environment and for me that was returning to the Vipassana Meditation Centre in Toronto. I stayed there for 2 nights volunteering and meditating for 2 days. What I gained from quieting my mind was a clear picture of what I needed to do next to achieve my goals. I realized I needed to stop thinking about the future and be focussed on the present and what I am trying to achieve NOW. The rest will all fall into place once I reach my short term goals.

7. Brushed Steel Layered Necklace from Mint

I have been looking for a short layered necklace for the longest time. Finally found one at Vaughan Mills Mall at a store called MINT. This one was $20.00.

3 Layer Stainless Steel Necklace

8. Book of the month: Ask & Its Given

I am a believer in MAKING my life happen instead of letting life HAPPEN to me. I am also a believer that if you ask for something the universe conspires in a such a way to bring it to you. This book is a message about how our positive thoughts guide us towards positive emotions and hence to a positive life. You have to know the “correct” way of asking the universe for it to conspire to bring it to you. And at the end of the book there are a set of processes that you can practice that make this book highly practical and actionable, too.

9. Australia & New Zealand Trip Planning

I will be going to Australia and New Zealand in December for around 5 weeks. This month has been all about planning out my trip and can’t wait for all the adventures to come with that adventure filled trip.

I use these 3 websites to find flights:

  1. Skyscanner
  2. E Dreams
  3. Hopper

10. Badminton

I wanted to start playing a sport as part of adding exercise to my daily routine but I was tired of “gym” type exercises. I really enjoyed badminton when I was younger and thought it would be fun to take up that sport again. A lot of community centres offer drop in sports in the evenings on weekdays. You can play volleyball, basketball, badminton, swimming etc. Look up a community centre close to you and try out a sport! I go twice a week now and enjoy it so much!
